黄油是在农机维修中经常用到的润滑剂，因为它具有粘性，有的农机手把它当作黏合剂来用，但应注意以下几个地方不要乱用：
1、活塞环
有的农机手为避免活塞环在安装时错位，在环槽内抹上黄油将环粘住，这样做危害很大。因发动机工作时，黄油遇热形成胶状物，影响活塞环的弹力，降低封闭性能，并产生积碳，加剧机件磨损。
2、汽缸垫
有的农机手在装汽缸时，在汽缸垫的两面抹上黄油，以为能增加汽缸的密封度，而结果恰恰相反。因为发电机工作时缸体温度剧升，黄油会迅速融化流失，产生空隙造成缸体漏气。同时，黄油融化产生积碳，加速汽缸垫变质老化。
3、调速器
有的农机手为安装方便，在调速器支架内用黄油将球粘住。这样，在启动后，铜球不易在离心力作用下分开。一旦融化进入曲轴箱，则使机油变质，无法使用。
